Shimla - the summer capital of British India - is the current capital of Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It has been endowed with abundance of natural heritage. It has a scenic location confined by green hills with snow covering the peaks.

They are wood, handicrafts, metalwork, local tweeds, shawls, pullovers, wooden articles, caps, toys, Tibetan carpets and jams and squashes. The Lakkar Bazaar is well known for its wooden crafts. There are many Showrooms and Emporiums along the Mall Road from where you can buy Pahari Cap, Himachali Shawls, Pullovers, handicrafts and toys. The Tibetan market is well known for its imported goods mainly electronics and fancy items.

In winter chilly winds blowing from the upper Himalayas makes Shimla very cold especially in last week of December. Temperature varies from 15 to 27 degree Celsius in summers while in winters it ranges from 0 to 17 degree Celsius.

Best time to visit Shimla is all over the year, as every season has its own charm.
